THE BEST FOR LAST!
The Best for Last!
1/17/2016 by Rev. Allison Smith
On this 2nd Sunday after Epiphany we honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr in prayer and reading and song. The anthem this morning,?”Sound Over All Waters”,?is dedicated to Coretta Scott King, and was sung for the first time on the occasion of her preaching at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine in New York City, where Paul Haley, the composer, was organist and choirmaster. Mrs. King?s steadfast vision and hope embody Whittier?s words: ?The dark night is ending and dawn has begun.? ?Heather Elowe sang for us this morning, accompanied by Carroll Smith: ?SCC 20160117 Sound Over All Waters.mp3
